Kim Jung-Hoon; 21st century Books; 247 pp., 12,000 won
On July 26th, Kim Jung-Hoon(29), held a lecture meeting at the YoungPoong Bookstore, just 2 months after publishing his first book; Rub your shoulders with world leaders.
At the lecture, he emphasized the importance of having a clear vision and encouraged the audiences not to be afraid of taking actions to find one’s vision. Through an hour of active Q&A session, he shared his past experiences and some tips for getting positive responses from others. The lecture was ended with big applause and the signing was followed by.
What made this young guy famous and to be adorable to the readers just in 2 months? The answer is within his book.
On January, 2004, an ordinary college student sent e-mails to the U.S. Ambassador, the commander of the ROK/U.S. CFC, and the South Korean Foreign Minister to get answers for the questions, which had arisen after taking the class called ‘International relationship and diplomacy.’ Surprisingly, he received positive responses from each of them and was invited to have an exclusive conversation.
These meetings gave him a glimpse of his vision. He decided to be a person who can contribute to the advancement of South Korea’s status in the world. With his resolute will and sincere efforts, he was able to meet more than 80 world’s famous leaders, – including Bill Clinton, the former president of the U.S., and Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary-General of the United Nations – to hold the international conference twice, and to make his way closer to his vision.
Pursuing his vision, he worked as a public relations officer of Seoul, as the youngest member of the Government Transition Committee and as a part timer of a restaurant, a hotel, a publishing company, and etc. with the intention to do physically hard works.
Based on these experiences, he is, currently, working as a public relations officer of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), which promotes the value of South Korea by helping the developing countries. He is also sharing his thoughts and positive energy through on-and-offline activities.
